- What is healing?
Historically different forms of healing therapies have been developed in most, if not all cultural traditions down the ages. The common thread that runs through the more profound methods is the essential quality of an inner stillness. In this stillness there is a connection to the origin of life forces which optimize to "re-create" healthy expression.
- What is the approach of Craniosacral Biodynamic Therapy?
The approach of craniosacral biodynamic therapy is oriented towards supporting the health of the client's system. Therefore it does not necessarily focus on treating symptoms in an effort to fix problems as separate parts. Rather this mode of healing emphasizes an immersion into the wholeness of life energy at its source.
- What does this mean?
Out of universal stillness arise three distinct rates or rhythms (tempos) of motion. The inherent motion manifests as subtle "ebb and flow" cycles within the fluid, tissue and bony structures of the body. This is sensed by the practitioner with a light or "neutral" touch on the fully clothed client. Typically the client is initially expressing a superficial and fast tempo that is fragmented and therefore disorganized. As the practitioner shifts awareness into a state of presence that is centered in stillness, a stable and therapeutic field is established for the client to relax and settle into. In this state the slower more coherent rhythms of healthy expression are able to clearly manifest.
- How does this work?
The initiation of these powerful organizing forces access deeper layers of unconscious suffering. The unprocessed conditions which were held and contained by the system are now able to be resolved and released. This allows for the systemic integration of the previously bound energy into more efficient holding patterns. The result is expressed as abundant life energy with the vitality of health.
- How many sessions are needed?
This is dependent on the client’s lifestyle, priorities and capacities. Within these circumstances the healing process itself will determine how the sequence of sessions unfolds. Generally speaking with family, work, and financial responsibilities once a week is sufficient. Initially the first couple of sessions are oriented towards establishing a therapeutic relationship. It is here that an assessment can be made as to the state of the individual's nervous system and how it is organized. Overall 7-10 sessions are a good starting estimate of the numbers involved. Ongoing sessions are basically a maintenance program that keeps the system “tuned” as per the client’s requirements.
- What kind of problems does Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy resolve?
Craniosacral biodynamic sessions are oriented towards re-establishing a connection with universal health; therefore it is helpful in all situations. In returning to the unity of source there is a harmonization of imbalances at every level as the various components of the system come into alignment. This includes physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues as well as hormonal and metabolic processes and general function of the Central Nervous system.
